Lula's Brew - Best selling app becomes a print picture book

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bestselling App Becomes Children’s Picture Book

Irvine, CA

As one of the first picture book apps, Lula’s Brew sold over 10,000 copies and left fans clamoring for a print edition. Wanting a specialist children’s ebook publishing, author/illustrator Elizabeth Dulemba contacted Xist Publishing, a digital-first publisher of children’s books, to see if there was a way to transform the app into a book.

“When Elizabeth approached me with Lula’s Brew, I knew it would be an excellent fit for Xist Publishing.  Our mission is to encourage a lifetime love of reading in kids--no matter the form it takes--so bringing a beloved children’s book app to print, as well as creating a new edition for the Kindle Fire is exactly the type of project that we like to get behind.” said CEO of Xist Publishing, Calee Lee.

Lula’s Brew tells the story of a little witch who would rather cook than cast spells. For the print edition, author/illustrator Elizabeth Dulemba expanded upon the existing illustrations to create 16 full spreads just in time for a Halloween launch.

Lula’s Brew is now available in hardcover, paperback,  and as a children’s ebook in .epub and .mobi with text-tap-to-zoom for the Kindle Fire and Android tablets. It is also available in the iTunes app store where the Kirkus review describes it as, “the rhymed narrative features amusing cultural touches parents and older readers will appreciate...The colored-pencil illustrations are attractive and look good on the iPad’s screen.”
